I've not looked closely at the 4.2 changes.   I understand it has a number of 
optimizer improvements, which at least include the alias analyser.  FSF 4.2 will 
not include the ColdFire improvments, but CS has ported those to our version of 
4.2, which will be released shortly.

Yes.  We're ARM's official developer of GCC for ARM targets and have been adding 
new pieces of ARM support for several years now.
