[patch] Fix tutorial errors

This patch fixes a couple of errors in the tutorial:

  - The old 'Scope_event' profiling class was mentioned
    instead of 'Scope'.
  - The read_file example had a typo and a missing using.

This also adds tests for a couple of relevant fragments.
