I could not duplicate this on a Red Hat 8 system, and we do run those
tests very regularly.

It is of course possible that we have a threading bug, but it is also
possible that bugs in Red Hat 9 libc are what is causing the problem. 
We would have to debug on such a system to know for sure.

(In general, QMTest has found some interesting thread bugs on various
systems.  We were able to crash the HP-UX 11.0 kernel on 
a regular basis.  That is why we have ProcessTarget in addition to
ThreadTarget.)
