Here is what I know so far using a uniprocessor Linux computer.  In
src/Engine/MultiPatchEngine.cpp's Engine<Dim, T, MultiPatch<LayoutTag,
PatchTag> >:: Engine(const Layout_t &layout),
the first PInsist fails because fpID == -1.
