Pooma CVS Code Freeze

Per Scott Haney's email message of yesterday (Tuesday), we'll now

1) Copy the mainline code into a blanca_2001Oct01 branch.
2) Merge the newfield_revision branch into the mainline.

While this is happening, will you please refrain from committing code
changes to the Pooma CVS repository?
