Coldfire v1 core

Are there any plans regarding support for the v1 ColdFire core?  I have 
heard (but can't confirm) that Freescale are beginning to provide 
samples for larger customers, and will be available sometime this year. 
  I don't expect there will much work needed to get basic v1 core 
support (i.e., disabling instructions that are not supported in the v1 
core, and linker files for the various devices as they come out), but 
more complete support would optimise for the new instructions.  There is 
also debugger support to consider.

I have no concrete plans to use the devices at the moment, but if they 
live up to their aim of ColdFire power at 8-bit price and package sizes, 
they could be very interesting.
