I think that what we need is a program that we can run that manifests
the bad benavhior.  The problem could be the kernel, the C library, the
compiler, or the application.  Unfortunately, it's very tough to isolate
intermittent problems.  If you can strip down your application to the
point where you can run some problematic function in a loop until it
explodes, then we may be able to figure out what's wrong.
